Meet Dr. Beyer

Dr. Beyer grew up in Buffalo, New York and graduated from Penn State University in 1991. In 1995, he earned his DDS degree Magna Cum Laude from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry and began a two year specialty training program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Upon completion of his residency in 1997, he remained at the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry as a full time Assistant Professor of Orthodontics where he directed the dental student orthodontic clinic, maintained a private practice within the department, and supervised the orthodontic residents on a daily basis.

In 1999, Dr. Beyer opened Commonwealth Orthodontics in the West End of Richmond and has since added offices in Mechanicsville and Colonial Heights. Dr. Beyer is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the American, Southern and Virginia Associations of Orthodontists, and has been a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and Southside Dental Society since 1991. In addition, he has served as President of the Medical College of Virginia Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation. Outside of the office, Dr. Beyer and his family enjoy traveling and outdoor sports (especially golf). He is also an avid pinball machine collector, and even has one machine from his collection in the Colonial Heights office for the patients to enjoy!
